Shortly, seeing grandparents playing video games will be the norm. Most kids entered the virtual realm back in the '90s and early 2000s. And it was all about the gameplay back then! And one of the titles that left a lasting impression on me was Monster Truck Madness.
I haven't been so fascinated by Monster Trucks since I used to drive Bigfoot, Grave Digger, and Snake Bite around a virtual track. I was just ten then, but it's all returning to me. I would primarily race these big V8 brutes trying to improve my lap times, but these days, I'd love to try the freestyle side of things. And I'm writing this story while listening to the metal theme song of the game.

In the past few years, I've become increasingly obsessed with drifting and RC drifting. I've never had a proper Radio-controlled vehicle, except for some tiny ones, but it all started with Monster Trucks back in the day. And after today's story, I'm even more inclined to go out and purchase one. If you've been following Monster Jam over the past few years, you may be familiar with the Lucas Stabilizer truck.

Seeing it performing tricks and jumping around in the following video will raise some questions, though. You can hear the sound of the massive 540 ci (8.85-liters) Chevrolet V8 engine. But something is off. Even though the track is built to scale, you can tell it's all an illusion. It all becomes apparent when Lucas Stabilizer starts towing another Monster Truck and then goes for an all-out high-speed jump.

This channel has been uploading RC Monster Truck highlights for some time now, and it's almost as good to watch on your screen as the real thing (with an emphasis on almost). The truck in question is a Losi LMT machine at a 1/10 scale. The Ready-to-Run package costs $649.99, but there are other upgrades to consider if you want to take things to the next level.

As you see in RC drift cars, you can swap bodies to get the look you envisioned. Those who know the Lucas Stabilizer are probably familiar with its driver: Cynthia Gauthier. The Canadian competitor has been in the game for almost a decade and has driven several Monster Trucks, such as El Toro Loco, Monster Mutt, and Whiplash. She won the Monster Jam High Jump World Championship a few years ago, and I also loved her performance from Tampa, Florida, in 2022.

Despite being pregnant, she could still climb inside the Peterbilt-inspired Monster Truck, as seen on her social media channels. That means Linsey Read will take over the Lucas Stabilizer for some time. Now, I'm going back to studying the Monster Truck RC Market. Even the 1/18 version of the Losi Grave Digger looks tempting, as that only costs $270.
