Some motorhomes just hit differently! One such unit is the RS Evolution, a monster of a mobile habitat into which you can even store a compact vehicle. Yes, the time has come to explore how the Brits like to do mobile living.
Folks, every once in a while, I run across a machine that stands apart from the rest, and today, that RV is the Revolution from RS Motorhomes. If RS doesn't sound familiar to you, it makes sense because this manufacturer is from England. However, they have been active for over 35 years, time in which, they've developed a solid on-road living community, achieved by listening to what their current and potential buyers are looking for; apparently, some of us just want a place to load up cars.

All that brings us to the Evolution, a motorhome with countless model years, floorplans, slide-outs, and all the luxury essentials we need to live a life on the road. Yes, 'luxury' because that's what this lineup offers, and with that in mind, let me point out that these babies start off priced at £260K ($366K at current exchange rates).

While that may sound like quite a hefty amount of cash, we need to consider that there are motorhomes out there that can't achieve half of what these puppies can, be it indoor or outdoor living. After all, the whole garage feature isn't one that you see every day.

Now, to try and go through all the little itty bitty pieces that make up one of these units would be sheer insanity, so to make things a bit easier to understand, let's take a little break out of our days and pretend we own one of these units.

Overall, these babies are set on a 10-ton DAF chassis or an optional Mercedes Benz base, and with that, we'll be able to take advantage of all the features these two manufacturers have grown to be known for. But most importantly, it's the fact that these babies are designed to keep you on the road year-round.

This is achieved by crafting a shell that's literally impervious to the world outside. With the use of insulated GRP, the roof, body, and floor are brought to life, but it's important to note that the floor is built from two layers and heated too. Let's load it up with clothes, food, toys, and other outdoor necessities, and off we go.

Once you've arrived at your destination, let's hop out of the unit and start unfurling what will become your home for the next few days. At this stage, you'll access all those storage bays you loaded up earlier, but this time, you'll be able to see the result of your work.

Before long, an awning will be jutting out of the side of the Evolution, the kids will be playing in the pass-through storage bay, and you'll have fired up a BBQ. An outdoor tent is pitched nearby, just in case the kids want to spend the night outside. Since you have to unload the toys from your garage, your significant other takes over the cooking duties.

At the rear of these units, we'll find two types of storage bays. The first is a slightly smaller garage for things like e-bikes, surfboards, and maybe even a dirt bike or two, but it's the option we see in the image gallery that really got me going. Load up your Smart car, and off you go. Why not bring an ATV instead?

With your campsite set up, slide-outs, and awnings extended, you decide to head inside your Evolution to take a load off the old legs. Upon entering the unit, you'll typically find yourself with a galley in front, a bedroom and bathroom to the right, and at the front (to the left), the living room, and cab-over bedding.

What I particularly enjoyed about the interior of these units is the way RS uses an array of materials to bring it to light. I'm talking about those wooden accents, leathers, porcelain, and semi-precious metals. Heck, it may even come across as borderline land-yacht living. Be sure to relax and take a view of the world above via several moonroofs.

Finally, allow me to point out that each Evolution is packed with the features you need to live away from humans for quite some time. There are 500 l (132 gals) of fresh water, three 100 A batteries, a 3,000 W inverter, and a generator, and you can even look into solar panels too. Be sure to check out the options list, too.

But there's an important aspect to note about the lineup. Contrary to what a lot of motorhomes may require - a different driving license, one that attests to your knowledge of handling biggies - this one can be driven with your average car license, with the catch being that it had to be issued before 1997. Something to do with UK driving laws, but it is a neat aspect to consider.

At the end of the day, I find that the Evolution is a clear example of how and why RS Motorhomes is where they are today. The catch is that you'll have to head over to the UK to get your hands on one. Or, just take what you've seen here today to a local custom RV manufacturer and ask them what it would cost to make this sort of magic happen.
