Chevrolet Impala SS 427, or SS427 as it’s often referred to, was considered by many the icing on the Impala cake in the late ‘60s, coming not only with more power but also with a plethora of extra upgrades over the other models in the range.
The standard engine powering the SS427 was the same one Chevrolet used on the 1967 Corvette, with an output of 385 horsepower. But on the other hand, the SS427 could also be equipped with the L72 big-block optional upgrade, which pushed the power limit up to 425 horsepower.

The Impala you’re looking at here is one of these original SS427 models, and what’s more, it still comes with the engine Chevrolet installed back in 1968 when it produced the car.

Painted in red and featuring a white interior, this Impala proudly uses the Corvette engine, and according to the folks over at Weisco Motorcars selling the vehicle, it runs and drives just perfectly. In other words, it’s in nearly the same condition it was 53 years ago when it first saw the daylight, which is quite impressive given its age; also remarkable is the fact there’s no mention of a possible restoration during this whole time.

The garage claims there’s a chance this is a matching-numbers model, though there’s no evidence in this regard, and customers are recommended to check this out themselves too. But on the other hand, the Impala comes with a package you can hardly find these days. It includes not only the original engine but also a rust-free body, a clean interior without signs of wear, and even the original owner’s manual, spare tire, and build sheet.

The odometer indicates 99,210 miles (159,663 km), and it’s believed they are also original.

It goes without saying an SS427 in such a condition can’t be cheap, and this one right here really isn’t. The garage selling it on eBay is asking $87,900 for the car, but the Make Offer button has also been enabled, so reach out to them for additional info.
