The 1969 model was the last release of the fourth-generation Impala, so naturally, it featured rather subtle changes from its predecessor. This didn’t necessarily mean it wasn’t quite a hot seller, though.
The ’69 Impala actually topped Caprice production by over 600,000 units, a living confirmation of just how popular the car became in the late ‘60s. And this was something that pretty much everybody saw coming, especially because in 1965, when the fourth-generation model came out, the Impala managed to set an all-time annual sales record with 1 million shipped units in the United States.

The fourth Impala lineup was offered with a choice of several V8 units and one straight-six engine, but needless to say, the big-block options were the ones everybody was drooling after.

But none of these matter on the ’69 Impala we have here, as this particular car comes without an engine and transmission, essentially giving the new owner the chance to decide its future.

The vehicle, which is listed on eBay by seller rickybrandi143, comes as a project car, and at first glance, it’s a solid candidate for a restoration project. However, the lack of an engine and transmission means whoever buys it could very well go for a restomod should they want a new powertrain to be installed under the hood.

We’re not being provided with too many specifics on this one, though a quick look at the photos in the gallery is enough to figure out the Impala has seen better days. And of course, the rust has taken its toll on this car, and dealing with it should be a top priority for the new owner.

As for the price, the seller might be a little bit too optimistic on this one, as the starting bid is set to $2,500. Nobody has joined the digital race to take this Chevrolet home, especially because this is a reserve auction with a $4,700 Buy It Now price.
