1970 was the last year for the fourth-generation Impala and brought subtle styling improvements, such as triple vertical taillights and an improved front fascia setting it apart from its predecessor.
In theory, the 1970 model was thus supposed to boast the most polished and refined driving experience in the fourth generation, along with a look that just made sense for such an icon.

If you’ve been keeping an eye on autoevolution, you probably noticed that during our Chevrolet Month not a long time ago, we highlighted all kinds of Chevys. Some of them came in the worst possible condition after their owners abandoned them in the middle of nowhere, pretty much because they no longer cared about an automotive symbol.

The Impala we have here has clearly seen better days, and some of the pictures that were included in the eBay listing where the owner hopes they’d be able to sell the car could easily make a grown man cry.

Purchased some six months ago and supposed to be fully restored, the Impala is now seeking a new owner who can bring it back on the road, though judging from what you can see in the photo gallery, such a thing won’t be easy.

Described as an original, the vehicle clearly needs work in every single area, with the amount of rust on it definitely a major concern. The holes in the floors, for example, should be a top priority for whoever buys, not to mention a lot of parts are completely missing.

And speaking of missing parts, there’s no engine on this Impala, though this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. No engine under the hood leaves the door open for various other options, including a potential restomod should you be looking into a custom build.

The Impala comes with a clean title and a $3,000 fixed price, though at first glance, this might be too much for a 1970 model in this condition. Fortunately, the owner has also activated the “Make Offer” button for anyone interested in another deal.
