Manhart has been tuning BMWs for ages. And each time, they are extravagant, controversial, bold, and insane. It is surprising that the tuner still has ideas for the brand's models after so many builds. But they do, and somehow, they manage to impress every time. And this one-off MHX6 700 in purple, gold, and a ton of carbon fiber stands proof.
The Manhart MHX6 700 Gold Edition 01/01 is based on the pre-facelifted BMW X6 M. The one who ordered the mods wanted something "very special and extravagant to express maximum individuality" and wanted to turn heads in traffic. In other words, they wanted a money-is-no-object kind of spec.
If you think that is easier said than done, then you obviously don't know Manhart Performance. But you are about to. The Wupertal-based tuning house developed a forged carbon wide body kit to make the SUV coupe look intimidating and unique.
The German tuner used a special technique to make the BMW X6 M look like it does now. All of the forged carbon fiber elements have been infused with luminous gold flakes. And that is real gold, thanks for asking!
So the real gold flakes show up on the outline of the radiator grille, on the front splitter, hood vents, fender extensions, side skirts, rear air diffuser, and double rear spoiler. Meanwhile, the body of the car is painted in dark plum purple, which BMW calls Ametrine Metallic and is included in the BMW Individual customization program.

The former BMW X6 M/current MHX6 700 WB Gold Edition 01/01 rides on 23-inch Y-spoke wheels with a finish in matte black and a contrasting gold ring, wrapped in 315/25 tires.
Strangely, despite the controversially looking exterior that they wanted for the X6 M, the owner chose to keep the interior as it was from the factory. But Manhart Performance can work on that as well upon request and offers an eight-piece kit made entirely from carbon fiber.
They’ve got carbon fiber add-ons for the spokes of the steering wheel and shift paddles, plus side panels for the seats, but also Manhart floor mats, with the company's logo placed on the headrests.
And we saved the best for last because, no matter how we look at the car, the most interesting bit with tuning is always the extra oomph that it gets. When stock, the BMW X6 M is powered by the biturbo 4.4-liter V8 engine which develops 617 horsepower (625 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm).
That is where Manhart started from and went all the way to 720 horsepower (730 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. The figures can be achieved either with the assistance of an MHtronik additional control unit or an ECU remapping.

The tuner also added more drama with a brutal sound provided by the stainless steel exhaust system with active flaps mounted on the 100-millimeter quad tailpipes. A suspension upgrade brings height-adjustable KW coilovers. H & S lowering springs bring the car closer to the tarmac by 1.2 inches (30 millimeters). Manhart has a whole list of mods that are not TUV-approved, so those would be exclusively for export.
Manhart Performance did not disclose the price of the build. But this is entirely the business of the one who paid to drive this extravagant MHX6 700 WB Gold Edition 01/01 home. It is obvious, though, that getting attention in traffic is expensive.
