Listen, I encounter countless campers and travel trailers daily, and what I can say is that it's rather difficult to give everyone all they need, mainly because tastes differ from one person to the next. However, CrossRoads RV's Sunset Trail comes across as the sort of "All-Inclusive" habitat we may be looking for.
Ladies and gents, the name CrossRoads RV has been a part of the mobile living and camping industry since 1996, and while that doesn't make them the oldest crew on the block, they are part of the Thor Industries Group, so they're backed by an aggregate of decades of experience.

Well, all that knowledge is wrapped up in the Sunset Trail travel trailer lineup, and what's most attractive about this class is the fact that CrossRoads really did their best to give future owners a turn-key machine. Did they succeed? That's for you to decide, so without further ado, grab your truck, and let's hitch Sunset Trail behind it.

Now, the best way to give you an idea of what we're up against here is to sit back and picture yourself in the center of the action; that's right, be the owner of one of the 21 available floorplans for this year. From units suitable for just a couple or a small family to ones that can accommodate you, your spouse, kids, grandparents, and maybe even a friend or two.

For example, the SS331BH option offers over ten berths to lay your head. Moreover, this layout, and countless others in the lineup, include slide-outs, and the SS331BH has three of its own. Pick your favorite and drop yourself in the middle or edge of that trailer park where you've reserved your spot.

Maybe you've found a way to escape the park and are sitting under the shade of some oak tree with a brook flowing nearby. Just be sure to drag your axles and wheels through terrain determined by the manufacturer. Oh, and since the SS331BH is one of the larger units that this manufacturer creates, I'm going to choose it to walk you through the possibilities of owning a Sunset Trail.

Once you've made the trip to wherever it is you had planned, you and the family will get out of your truck, stretch those legs, and prepare to set up your campsite. This is where we also begin to see all the magic that is a Sunset Trail, and it'll start with you activating those numerous slide-outs, in the process, nearly doubling the size of your habitat.

Yet, it's not the slide-outs I care about, but rather, the Sunset Trail's inclination toward outdoor living and experiences. For example, the SS331BH includes a wonderful outdoor galley setup ready with space for a fridge, sink and tap, and there's also room to unfurl a cooktop or grill nearby.

At the opposite end, the pass-through storage is perfect for gear like kayaks, fishing rods, tools, or any of that. It's also here that you can store tent annexes that you may want to pitch a tent and get some escape from the kinds, if only for a night or two. Don't judge; they can get overwhelming.

With an awning extending off the side of the Trail, your grill smoking up for some bits and pieces, the kids working on their tent, and solar panels sucking up precious juice from the sun, you take a moment to soak it all in, and as you do, a smile is sure to creep across your face. Your significant other catches it, and you stick your tongue out in response; you're both smiling now.

As for the interior of these babies, it matters most what floorplan you've chosen as your home. Mine lets you climb inside via two doors, one that leads us to the middle of the unit and in the midst of a galley, dinette, and entertainment center, while the other lets guests access one of the bathrooms, perfect if you've got guests that you might not want to explore the rest of your home.

Now, as we find ourselves in the living room, take a moment to spin in place, and as you do, be sure to notice that gorgeous island kitchen layout, of which part sits on one of the slide-outs, the large trifold and modular sofa, and even that "XL" booth dinette that takes the shape of a bed once night falls. Go ahead, take a seat, turn on the electric fireplace, and even doze off if you wish.

Speaking of dozing off, the rear and front of the SS331BH are reserved for the master bedroom (front) and a five-berth children's room with bunks and a modular sofa (rear). The kids even have their own entertainment center, and the bathroom I spoke of earlier is also the one they'll be using; let Papa Bear sleep in peace.

There's just one catch to accessing the master bedroom, and something I personally didn't like - note that this is not true for all layouts - is the fact that you have to pass through the bathroom on your way to bed. Split features place the shower and vanity along the starboard side of the camper, but the left side has the toilet kind of jutting out into the middle of the walkway. Once in your room grab some fresh clothes from the overhead bays, plop down on your massive bedding, and wait for your spouse. Wait, never mind, there's meat on the grill; sleep can wait.

Sure, I could sit here and bore you with all the little construction details, the list of complete features, and even options, but at the end of the day, what really matters is the experience you can have with this habitat. Oh, and clearly how much it'll cost.

Speaking of pricing, it all depends on the model year, floorplan, and features in store, but as an idea, I was able to find a 2024 SS331BH for as low as $45K. If that's not a sweet deal, I don't know what is. Happy and safe adventuring out there.
