As normal walking is too mainstream now and we will probably forget how it’s done by 2050, this is Toyota’s personal transport assistant robot functional concept that will go on sale in the near future.
Named the “Winglet”, this Segway-style two-wheeler was “created with the aim of contributing to the development of a society where mobility is safe, freely accessible and fun.”
Winglet is much more compact than a classic Segway and it is powered by an electric motor, being able to reach a top speed of 6 km/h (3.7 mph). In cruising mode, you can go as far as 4 km (2.5 miles), after which you’ll need to recharge it for about 90 minutes for a full battery again.
Testing has already begun in Japan and bellow you can see it in action, while a Toyota engineer explains how to use it.
