Old Mustangs are cool, but old Mustangs that have already been restored are the cars that you can easily fall in love with.
And this 1967 Mustang fastback is about to enter the restomod project that it truly deserves, with the new owner claiming that he plans to install a Coyote V8 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The car was purchased for no less than $14,000, which is quite a bargain given its condition, and ClassicNation, the new owner, says it’s an almost complete model that wouldn’t require extensive restoration work.

However, he plans to give up on the original 302 engine and the 3-speed manual transmission for the configuration that we told you about in an attempt to put some modern V8 muscle in a car that truly deserves it.

Numbers don't match but very complete. It's got a 302 with a 3 speed manual, but that engine has never been wired up or run in this car. It was set in just for selling it. Here's more details of the car. There are a few panels that need to be replaced, and some metal fab in the front frame rail under the battery tray. Definitely a project but very complete and fairly solid!” ClassicNation explains on reddit.

The restomod project will include only subtle improvements to the exterior and the interior, with the bigger changes to happen for the drivetrain, the steering, the suspension, and the brakes.

Since it’s a ‘67 model, a little bit of rust can still be seen here and there, but nothing that can’t be fixed.

Even though the paint looks good, there is some rust issues that will necessitate some metal replacement in the floors, front frame rail, and possibly a rear quarter panel,” ClassicNation explains.

The project will obviously take a while to complete, but this restomod project is definitely worth keeping an eye on, especially if you’re Mustang fan.
