This 15 pounds (7 kg) suitcase-scooter is the creation of He Liangcai, an amateur inventor from China that thinks he could bring a change to his country’s environmental issues. A former farmer, he says the electric wheeled-suitcase was the fruit of 10 years of work and is confident that it will have a bright future development.
It can hit 12 mph (20 km/h) and has a battery life of about six hours. It’s probably the best electric vehicle for a person that is working and traveling at the same time, as you only need a normal plug to recharge it. It might look a bit awkward, but Liangcai thinks it’s just a matter of time until it will hit the market.
“I’m quite positive about this invention’s future development. Why? It’s easy to carry, it will be sold at a low price and it will solve some problems our country is facing,” he told the local media.
He thinks his suitcase would be a good and cheap solution in the counter-fight of the country’s main cities big problems with the smog. And above all, this baby comes with and GPS system working with a burglar alarm, so loosing or getting your luggage stolen wouldn’t be a problem anymore.
The drivable freaq is made using the frame of an electric scooter with a suitcase wrapped around it, and is equipped with all the features you need: brakes, light signals and a horn.
Liangcai says he got the idea back in 1999, at the airport, when he was heading to the United States to claim his prize for another invention. Problem is, he lost his luggage so he thought he might find something to solve the problem. He’s not sure what the exact price will be, but he it's going to be low enough for anyone to afford.
Ok, it’s not the $1,000 dollars (EUR 878) Marble skateboard and definitely not the super-efficient Microjule car that circles the planet with 12 dollars, but we have to admit we appreciate the looks of it.
