M*A*S*H, CSI: Miami, Fly Me to the Moon, Pineapple Express and The Office are just some of the TV shows and movies in which Ed Begley Jr. starred. But along with acting, Ed also has a passion for environmentalism.
And unlike other Hollywood stars that abruptly started to embrace green cars now just because they want to change their reputation, Ed Begley started this back in 1970 with his first electric vehicle – a Taylor Dunn golf cart.
From there it escalated pretty quick and he upgraded to Toyota hybrids, electric bicycles and even solar/wind power systems to power his 1,585 square feet home.
One of his latest green cars was a 2003 Toyota RAV4 EV. “Was”, because the car is now for sale on eBay for around $10,000.
The full-electric car did around 119,000 miles in 11 years, which is not bad at all, especially considering the fact that the RAV4 EV is not built for speed and an environmentalist celebrity drove it with care. We reckon the car will do at least another 100k miles.
Don't even worry about the battery, because the car comes with all service history at hand which shows it received a new battery pack in 2011, which will be good for at least 7 years, while doing 85 miles on a full charge.
Apart from the bargain price for this EV, the lucky new owner will also have the opportunity to meet Mr. Begley in person, have a chat, take a picture and even get an autograph straight on the vehicle.
