Cars that spend decades in storage typically emerge with dust, mold, rust, and missing parts, mainly because they sit for years, sometimes becoming donors for other siblings.
The 1966 Ford Mustang that eBay seller jefcopso0 has recently listed online tells a different story. The car spent over three decades in a heated garage, and its current condition is fascinating.

The pony still exhibits the original paint mixed with a few spots of surface rust and minor dents. The body looks good, and a professional restorer should be able to return it to tip-top shape quite quickly. A full respray is required, and according to the VIN, the original paint was Silver Blue.

Let's open the door and see what's inside. The interior of this Mustang is mesmerizing. Everything is in new condition, including the carpets. You won't have to clean the cabin, as it's almost spotless. It's unclear if someone previously restored this Mustang, but considering it spent three decades in storage, the car is likely still in original condition.

Everything is there, so the Mustang is ready for the road. Speaking of being prepared for the road, the pony comes in working condition, but you might be disappointed when checking out what's under the hood. The vehicle sports a six-cylinder unit – I know, a V8 would've been much more exciting, but considering the overall condition, any engine should do it.

The 1966 six-cylinder option was the same as in 1965 – a 200 (3.3-liter) Thriftpower unit with 120 horsepower. Ford introduced this engine to replace the 170 (2.8-liter) powerplant that debuted on the 1964 1/2 Mustang. The company offered several more powerful engine options, and the top-of-the-range HiPo came with a 289 (4.7-liter) 4-barrel developing 270 horsepower.

The owner says everything is in working condition, and they already finished the regular maintenance. They replaced the gas tank, the fuel filters, the tires, and so on. The Mustang is now prepared to become a daily driver, though its place is in someone's collection, given its current condition.

The pony is getting a lot of attention on eBay, with the number of bids going up quickly. In just a couple of days online, the Mustang received 25 bids. The top offer is $8,000, but the reserve is still locked. The owner did not provide any information regarding the reserve's value, so time will tell if someone sends a bid that removes it. The auction will expire in a little over four days.

In the meantime, if you want to see this Mustang in person, you must travel to Pepperell, Massachusetts. You won't have to tow it back home, but considering its impressive shape, you should bring a trailer and then park it in a heated garage for occasional weekend drives during sunny days.
