The 1960 Impala was the final model of the short-lived second generation. Chevrolet moved to the third series after only two years, especially as it planned a major facelift based on the GM B platform.
One of the most notable changes on the new model was the three round taillights, with the ’60 Impala lineup now offering fewer V8 options to customers in the States. The production run for the second generation reached 490,000 units, out of which several are still around these days. That includes the model you’re looking at right here, currently listed for sale online by eBay user sk8high123.

One of the best things about this 1960 Impala is it comes with lots of original parts, including the body panels you can easily inspect in the photo gallery here. For a car this old, this is clearly one important detail, especially because the Impala is said to come with absolutely no rust.

Sold as a black plate California car, the Impala sports a silver paint that looks in good condition. The same thing can be said about the interior, with the owner claiming all electrical systems and gauges work correctly.

But the actual magic happens under the hood, where you can find not only a new suspension system but also an engine capable of providing more power. This propels the impala closer to restomod territory, as what you’re getting is a 5.3-liter LS unit paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The car runs and drives nicely, we’re being told, so if you want a daily driver, this Impala is certainly up to the task.

What about the price, you may ask. Well, given the Chevy is listed for auction, the Internet will decide how expensive it can get, though it's worth knowing that a reserve has also been enabled. The top bid at the time of writing is $6,700, but given we’re still one week away from the moment the auction is supposed to come to an end, expect the price to go up significantly.
