Despite Lewis Hamilton’s win in the US F1 Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel's second place, held on the Circut of the Americas, in Austin, Texas, Red Bull Racing has assured the team their third consecutive constructors’ title. Also, Vettel still leads the drivers’ standings, and he if he maintains the consistency which he showed throughout the season, then the title is as good as his.
The boss of the racing team, Christian Horner said, following their latest win: "We are halfway there [ . . . ] We have closed down one championship – and to have won a third consecutive constructors' is something that we could only have ever dreamed about a few years ago [ . . . ] To have achieved what we have in 2010, 2011 – and 2012 against the opponents we have in only our eighth year in the sport is something that is quite remarkable [ . . . ] It is testimony to the long hours, dedication and determination that there is within the team, that we have managed to achieve this – and it is something every member of the team is fiercely proud of."
Horner made it clear that while they may have already won the constructors’ championship, the end-of-season celebrations don`t being until Sebastian Vettel is also crowned world champion this year, this Sunday, after the Brazilian GP, however. Also, since Alonso still has maths on his side when it comes to the points, it really could go either way in the last race of the season, so they have good reason to be weary!
