The whole world knows now that the amazing Star XV950 aka the Bolt was built for customization. Even though the idea is not a new one, it looks like it has sparked the interest of more manufacturers who are now offering bikes with hack and saw future in mind. And since the name of the game is “custom” it was only natural that aftermarket parts started to flow. Today we’re welcoming Mustang Seats to the Bolt team, with their all-new complete solo seat.
Now, the Bolt was offered as a solo machine straight from its debut, even though a two-up saddle was available later as an option. Mustang is now offering a solo seat, to allow those who opted for the initial version to retain the same character for the bike. The seat oozes retro styling, but it has been crafted using 21st century technologies for unrivaled comfort and durability.
Mustang’s bolt seat comes with a marine-grade fiberglass baseplate on which the controlled density , molded foam was loaded, and covered by a premium vinyl sheet. The seat attaches to the frame of the Bolt with a special hinge and bolt, and is a direct replacement, not requiring any trimming, grinding or welding, but minimal skills and some common hand tools. The baseplate sits on two springs which add even more classic DNA to the whole build.
A special leather pouch is available separately and it fits perfectly under the seat for storing small objects, such as keys, cell phone and similar. The pouch is priced $29 (€21), while the seat alone is $199 (€146), with the special retrofit hardware for custom installations being available for $35 (€25).
