The New Stig: Auditions

After several months of feeding you with more than you needed or wanted to know about the man previously known as the Stig, Ben Collins, it's time to move on. Forget why it all went down as it did, forget the old Stig, forget his helmet.

As everything in life, the Stig too had to change, evolve, renew. Since Collins decided writing would better suit his future career (by the way, how is his book selling?) than driving, BBC and Top Gear were left with a daunting challenge: chose the next Stig.

And choosing they did. How the process went down, can be seen in the video below. And trust us when we tell you, the process ain't pretty. It's like the Power Rangers auditions, mixed with a touch of scenes from “The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human”... Painful..

We'll let you watch the video and enjoy it on your own, without telling you what's what. We couldn't help, however, catch a glimpse of retribution in the Top Gear Stig auditions video. When you'll see a white Stig type his memoirs on a Vaio and then use paste to correct a typo, you'll know what we mean.

Piece of advice though. At the end of the auditions, a new Stig has been selected. Logically, the Internet has soon begun flooded with THE QUESTION: who is the new Stig? Please don't ask that question anymore.

You've all seen who the old Stig was and (no offense, Collins) there was nothing spectacular there.
