Just two weeks ago we were bringing you live photos of the Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce from its world debut in Geneva and we were impressed. The specs of the car were incredible and, in complete honesty, we expected a huge price tag. Now it’s all official and we can tell you that you need to pay nearly half a million dollars to own one.
Lamborghini knows that people will want a Veneno dressed as an Aventador (because that’s really what the SV is) and they gave it a price tag that would make sure profits are sky high. To be more precise, the window sticker for one of these will start at $493,069 which includes the $3,700 gas guzzler tax and the $3,495 destination and delivery charge.

Of course, that number can also go higher if one wants to decorate his car with all sorts of optional features but as standard, the SuperVeloce will have plenty of features, including an interior lined with suede and carbon fiber fabric.

On the performance front you won’t need anything ‘extra’. The V12 was tuned to make 750 HP and thanks to its all-wheel drive system and the ultra-fast gearbox, the 62 mph (100 km/h) target will be hit from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds. The top speed of this beast is 217 mph (350 km/h) so yes, it might very well be worth the money.

Other cars in this region of performance cost either around the same, such as the Gumpert Apollo for example, or up to twice or even more by comparison. One such example is the Pagani Huayra which has a sticker of over one million.

Lastly, compared to its ‘simpleton’ brother, the stock Aventador, the SuperVeloce will ask nearly $100,000 more. That’s 100k for a 0.1 faster acceleration, 60 more HP and a similar top speed. Could it all be worth it?
