The Juiced Bikes family is about to welcome a new member very soon: HyperScrambler 2, described by the company as the faster, more powerful and with more range sibling of the Scrambler, has just been officially unveiled.
Without a doubt, one of the few silver linings of 2020 has been the boost in e-bike popularity. This has obviously translated into bigger sales and, at the same time, more varied options to choose from. The bikes from Juiced are moped-style two-wheelers that sit on the ever-blurrier line between electric bicycles and electric motorcycles.

They deliver outstanding performance, are fast and powerful and, with the HyperScrambler 2, now come with an unprecedented range (for an e-bike). The new model comes with dual battery capacity (with dual charging), a redesigned frame, several safety features that also make it street legal, and the same kind of power riders have come to love from Juiced.

Thanks to the dual battery pack, the total capacity is now at 38.4 Ah, which means this HyperScrambler 2 is good for 100 miles (161 km) or more, depending on a variety of factors like pedal assist, terrain, weather and the weight of the rider. The top speed is rated at 30+ mph (48.2 kph) and the bike comes with everything you need to be able to take it on the road legally, like brake light and headlight, turning signals and side mirrors. For even more fun off the road, the HyperScrambler 2 comes with dual suspension, so the riding experience will be similarly smooth whether you take it on city streets or on more bumpier trails.

“With the success of other Hyper models, we knew we had to take our best-selling Scrambler and make it even more powerful, with a truly insane e-bike riding range,” Tora Harris, CEO and Founder of Juiced Bikes, says in a statement. “Gone are the days of underpowered pedaling and range anxiety. With the new HyperScrambler 2, we are delivering something very special – more distance, speed and power, but also an e-bike with incredible versatility and style. It's really the perfect mobility solution for a broad range of riders.”

Like the HyperScorpion, the HyperScrambler 2 comes with the Retroblade motor developed by Bafang Motors exclusively for Juiced, rated for a nominal 1,000W and peaking at 2,000W. Dual pedal sensors (torque and cadence) ensure smooth and reactive pedal assist, while stopping power is provided by hydraulic disc brakes. The offer is capped off with puncture-resistant tires for peace of mind as regards durability.

In other words, the HyperScrambler 2 is the improved, tweaked, upgraded version of its predecessor, the Scrambler, virtually promising to do away with range anxiety, the issue most EV users have been dealing with since the start of the so-called electric revolution. The fact that you can charge both packs simultaneously under two hours is a bonus, too. The HyperScrambler 2 is also designed with comfort and safety in mind: after all, if you’re going to be on the road this much, you might as well be comfy and visible to others.

Pre-orders start September 23, with the first deliveries scheduled for late November. Pre-orders come with a discounted price ($2,499 for the single-battery option and $2,999 for the dual-battery one), but the final price tag as production kicks off will be $2,999 and $3,999 respectively.

These e-bikes are expensive, no doubt, but they’re premium products. Much like the Scorpion, the initial model in the lineup and the most successful to date, and the HyperScorpion (both of which we discussed in previous articles), the HyperScrambler 2 is directly targeted at the adventurous type that’s also looking for an alternative means of transport for the daily commute. If you spend this much cash on an e-bike, it'd better be something you can rely on, no matter where you're going.
