Russian drivers are not known for their kindness and compassion towards others, and it is therefor more surprising that a driver actually stopped, despite the fact that the traffic lights were green, to pick up and move a cat which was wandering aimlessly through a relatively busy intersection.
Furthermore, and we say this with great surprise, none of the other drivers, who were being kept waiting, sounded their horns or did anything which we would have expected them to, after seeing only the negative side of driving in Russia. They waited patiently, and definitely appreciated the effort.
It is not about the actual saving of the cat, but more about the attitude and humanity shown by the driver, in a moment where he could have looked the other way and kept on driving.
