Ford has come up with a solution for all those who think that their Mustang is not fast enough. The Mustang FP800S Concept on display at the 2023 SEMA show in Las Vegas previews the upcoming supercharger kit that brings along extra oomph.
It was about time Ford brought the supercharger kit for the S650 Mustang powered by the V8 Coyote engine. The FP800S Concept that Ford took to this year’s SEMA show comes with 800 horsepower. The kit can be installed on any 2024 Ford Mustang GT, with either manual or automatic transmission.

To take the car all the way to that output, it includes a 3.0-liter Whipple twin-screw supercharger, dual intercooler tech, an oversized heat exchanger, and high-flow fuel injectors.

There is also an integrated intercooler air-bypass system, a new dual-air intake system with high-flow filters, and a Tomahawk V2 flash tool. They are all in the name of performance, as Ford used each and every one to squeeze that 800 horsepower out of that Coyote engine. The S650 Mustang is the most potent GT model yet.

Output is rated at 480 horsepower (487 PS) and 415 lb-ft (563 Nm) of torque. The car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 4.3 seconds and does the quarter mile in 12.5 seconds at 114.7 mph (184.6 kph). The needle of the odometer goes all the way to 163 mph (262 kph).

Ford keeps the performance figures of the Mustang FP800S Concept under wraps, but we will probably find out more closer to the market launch of the supercharger kit.

The kit can be installed by a dealer or an ASE-certified technician. The mods come with a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty.

Ford Performance half shafts, a lowering kit, and a Borla Cat-Back exhaust are also part of the plan, and so are several carbon fiber elements. New wheels, specific graphics, and several upgrades for the cabin are included, too.

Ford has not disclosed the price of the supercharger kit, but they announced their arrival at the dealerships early next year. Just to give you an idea of what price range we are talking about, a similar system for the F-150 would set you back $9,500. So, we can expect the one for the new-generation Mustang to be priced similarly.

A kit for the Ford Mustang Dark Horse is currently in development. The Dearborn carmaker announces that it will arrive "in the near future." The Dark Horse is the most potent road-legal Mustang in the lineup, kicking out 500 horsepower (507 PS) and 418 lb-ft (567 Nm) of torque for a run from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 3.7 seconds. We have yet to see where the supercharger kit will take it.
