The owner of the Tesla Plaid Channel promises new Model S Plaid races every week and, so far, has lived up to the promise... and then some more. In the latest episode of his quarter-mile drag racing series at Bradenton Motorsports Park, he took all Big Detroit Three for a spin or four around the track!
While they say that Tesla threatens everyone's supremacy in the automotive industry, it's also a valid point to imagine the first legacy automakers that might get frowned at by Elon Musk and Co. are the big and traditional ones – America's General Motors, Ford Motor Company, and Stellantis North America. And, of course, you would be right to think so – just look at the Chevy Equinox and Blazer EVs, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra EVs, and the GMC Hummer EV and Hummer EV SUV. Or maybe think about the Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E for a second. Oh, and not to mention the upcoming Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV or the Ram 1500 REV, of course.

They are all set to oppose the Tesla S3XY lineup plus the upcoming Cybertruck, of course. And the fights go down everywhere, from the ritzy nightclub to the quarter-mile dragstrip. Of course, everyone chooses their venues – but if you're after track action of the ICE versus EV variety, then we always recommend taking a look at what the TPC has to offer. The owner has stripped down his Tesla Model S Plaid with backseats and most rear material removed, all the while also leaving intact both front seats, the 20-speaker plus subwoofer audio system, all door panels, and the airbags.

With that saved weight and stock Pirelli P Zeros on 19-inch wheels, he goes every week to the track to check out the opposition. In the latest video feature embedded below, the Big Detroit Three were represented at the Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, by a vintage Chevy Camaro Z28 with a BBC V8 (big block Chevy) under the hood. However, it was an effortless 9.19s win by the Plaid because the Z28 fouled.

Next up, the main attractions were a couple of Mopars – a modified, nine-second Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and also a Redeye on drag radials. Both were given the move to make it a cooler brawl but to no avail – that Tesla Model S Plaid, coupled with the driver's long experience of racing, meant there were two easy wins, even if he denied launch control mode and the SoC on the Redeye run was not exactly optimal at 83%.

Interestingly enough, the final representative of the Big Detroit Three was a yellow Fox Body Mustang that you could not mistake for anything else. It also came to the dragstrip party with a 250+ horsepower nitrous kit, and the track officials gave them the present of an unexpected Pro Tree light setup for their 1/8-mile race. With the launch mode on but at 71% SoC and some tire slip, the Plaid's fate was sealed – the surprising Fox Body won the night's final battle with a 0.44s margin of victory!
