On January 9, Tesla opened the Model 3 Highland order books in the US. Deliveries were projected to start by the end of the month, and now we have an official timeline. Based on delivery updates received by people who were already assigned a VIN, the first Highland units should be united with their owners between January 25 and February 8.
People in North America have eagerly awaited the refreshed Model 3. The fact that China and Europe got the revamped model in September 2023 made the wait even more painful. This tells us how much people appreciate the fresh design that turned the facelifted Model 3 into an almost new car. Of course, there are many upgrades, but also some downgrades, including the removal of stalks, which many people resent.

With the Model 3 Highland, Tesla managed to appease its customer base by offering many sought-after features while at the same time cutting costs where it matter less. The new model has a revamped cabin with softer materials, a vastly improved audio system, a rear entertainment screen to make the kids happy, and superior comfort.

However, the most significant improvements were made in ride quality thanks to a redesigned suspension. This and the better soundproofing (using acoustic glass all-around) are enough upgrades to make anyone want a refreshed Model 3. Some even consider it better than the current bestseller, the Model Y. It would be interesting to see how this will affect the electric crossover's sales.

With so many exciting things coming to the Model 3 lineup, it's no wonder people jumped at the opportunity to order one. It's even more interesting, considering that the Model 3 no longer qualifies for a tax credit. This makes the Model Y a more sensible choice, even when taking the price into account.

When Tesla opened the order book for the refreshed Model 3, deliveries were estimated in January-February, but they have slipped to February-March since then. We already knew Model 3 deliveries would start by the end of the month, but now we have a more precise timeline. Early buyers who were already assigned a Model 3 VIN have been announced that deliveries will start on January 25, which is a couple of days from now. The latest you could get your car is February 8, concluding the first Model 3 delivery window.

That's a good sign, showing that Tesla has enough orders for the two-week delivery window. An earlier flyover at Tesla Fremont showed the outbound parking lot filled with Model 3 EVs ready for delivery. This indicates that production is ramping up as planned, which was already expected. Given that the refreshed Model 3 is not exactly a brand-new car, the production processes should not differ much, allowing for a quick ramp-up to the planned capacity.
