Techart Sets New Fullsize-SUV Speed Record

The tuners at Techart Automobildesign secured a new speed record for fullsize-SUVs at the High Speed Event in Nardo/Italy the past weekend. Test driver Sandro Reuter reached a top speed of 321,2 km/h (200 mph), with the TECHART refined Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

According to some, the circular 12.4 kilometer track is still considered to be the world´s fastest motor racing circuit, even ahead of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the United States.

“The SUV was ideally prepared for the event. Both the engine and the tires showed a high level of performance and consistency,”
Techart test driver Sandro Reuter said after setting the new record for the Germans.

However, the driver’s skills were the only ones that mattered in the Techart’s latest achievement. The success was also thanks to the team that refined the car. Based on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo with Turbo S technology, the car underwent several engine upgrades.

Techart therefore installed the TA 055/2.2 performance kit, taking the output figures up to 680 horsepower, an increase of 130 horsepower compared with the standard production model. In addition, the Aerodynamics Kit I, together with the “Sport” air suspension module, also contributed to the necessary performance on the track.

The vehicle’s visual appearance was also taken into consideration. The Techart daytime running lights, sports steering wheel, carbon kit, aluminum pedals, decorative stitching and seat belts in gray, additional leather in Luxury Black and illuminated door entry guards with the TECHART logo made the car worthy of its new record.
