We were overly thrilled when McLaren made its road car return back in 2011 and yet we couldn't help but be worried about the lack of drifting abilities displayed by the early MP4-12Cs. Well, half a decade has passed and Woking machines are now considerably more slide-friendly.
We're here to give you a vivid example, one that comes thanks to a 675LT owner who likes to pull respectable slip angles in his Macca. His name is Peter Soderberg and it looks like he's working to build a name for himself on the country rock scene.

These British machines still use an open rear diff, relying on electronics to split the power between the rear wheels (via selective wheel braking), so things will get tricky at times.

And the first video below shows the 675LT driver losing the rear end while flying on the Ascari Race Resort - a high-speed corner turns into a potential crash, but the guy pulls an amazing save.

Subsequently, he carries on with the kind of carbon fiber nerves of a driver who's spent tons of time on the track and even drifts the 675LT through a corner further down the track.

As his Instagram page reveals, this guy enjoys sideways shenanigans quite a lot, as he had displayed the same kind of slip angle drama on Portimao two days before the Ascari stunts (you'll find this in the second clip below).

While he doesn't mention this, we expect the 675 Longtail to have a custom wheel alignment that allows for its handling balance to be so easily offset - remember when we showed you a similar setup seeing the Porsche 911 GT3 RS PDK ditching its factory ceramic brakes for steel units, all to accommodate smaller wheels that would allow for the oversteer-friendly setup?

And he drives his other cars the same way, as the third clip below shows - the footage sees the guy sliding his Lotus Exige 360 Cup in the rain.

If only the man wouldn't post images that make us think he kills animals for the fun of it (you know, hunting pics), the guy would be really cool in our book.

Update:In a move that could make for an interesting coincidence, Peter Soderberg removed the images showing hunting rifles from his Instagram account (notice the "content unavailable" status of the embeded pics below) after this article was published - as far as weapons go, only the images showing the man engaging in skeet shooting activities were left on his Instagram.
