Suzuki Jimny SZ4 Launched in the UK

Suzuki recently announced the Jimny SZ4 will become available through the company's UK dealership network in the upcoming weeks. As for the trim options, the SZ4 will be equipped with 15-iinch alloy wheels, leather upholstery and two-tone black and silver roof rails and rear window privacy glass, according to a report by Carscoop. It will be released in four metallic paints, including twilight purple, graphite gray, bluish black and nocturne blue.

The new Jimny is powered by a 1.3-liter gasoline engine featuring variable valve timing. It achieves a fuel consumption rating of 32.6 mpg (7.2 l/100km) in combined cycle while releasing 171 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Pricing starts at 10,990 pounds (12,800 euro).

The United Kingdom is playing a key role in Suzuki's global market strategy as Great Britain brought quite high revenues in the last few months, mostly thanks to the scrappage scheme approved by the government. The Japanese automaker revealed it received no less than 2,100 orders for Alto since May 18, a model that can be purchased for 5,245 pounds by people who agree to trade in their old car.

“The Alto and Splash models had already got off to a very good start in March and now registrations across the whole range are climbing steadily as customers take advantage of the attractive savings on offer. Our dealers are reporting greatly increased showroom traffic and some are experiencing a four fold increase in orders," David Seward, Director, Sales and Marketing, said.

Swift, Splash and Jimny are the three models in Suzuki's lineup that benefit the most from UK's scrapping scheme, according to figures given by the manufacturer.
