Doctors have a special sense of humor and this has recently been reinforced by a surgeon in Louisiana, who ditched her car for a kid’s bicycle. Dr. Catherine Baucom was traveling to work, with a surgery being scheduled for that day, when she encountered a massive traffic jam on Interstate 10 in Baton Rouge.
The dedicated doctor didn’t want to wait in the jam and postpone the surgery, so she chose to leave the interstate, go to a fellow doctor’s house in the area in order to see what other forms of transportation she could find.
The only solution was to borrow the bicycle that belonged to the 7-year old daughter of her friend. She also received a color-coded helmet and she used the bike to get to the hospital that day.
Dr. Baucom was stopped by the police on her way and when the officers heard the story, they escorted her to the hospital.
