Suomy Named Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Official Helmet Supplier

One of the highest appreciated helmet manufacturers in the world, Suomy, has been named the official helmet supplier of the 2011 season at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The venue hosts five world-class race weekends each season, and many great names in the history of motorsport have competed here: Roger Penske, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Kenny Roberts, Bobby Rahal, Wayne Rainey and Valentino Rossi included.

“I am very pleased to have Suomy join our family of sponsors and partners,” said Gill Campbell CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “Suomy produces a top quality product that visitors to our race track enjoy seeing on their favorite riders and yearn to own themselves.”

As the official helmet, Suomy will be used by all occupants in the popular VIP Pace Car Hot Lap program at each of the major events held at Mazda Raceway. Each year hundreds of guests enjoy VIP Hot Laps on the 11-turn road course in the latest Mazda Pace Cars.

Suomy was founded in Italy in 1948, making Vespa windscreens and now produces 100 percent hand-made, ultra-lightweight helmets with vibrant, high quality graphics. For Suomy, the goal is always the same: to ensure the quality of a technologically advanced and “made in Italy” product.

We create one of the best and safest helmets in the world and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is one of the finest and most technically-demanding race tracks in the world,” said Jim Doyle, president of Suomy America. “With the MotoGP World Championship and AMA Pro Racing at Mazda Raceway, our partnership really makes sense.”
