Suniel Shetty Unveils New Ford Endeavour 3.0 Automatic

American manufacturer Ford announced today the release on the Indian market of the Endeavour SUV, equipped with a 3.0l DuraTorq TDCi engine and a five-speed automatic transmission. The seven seater also adds for the 2009 model new styling elements, including new-look front design.

The Endeavour was unveiled by Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty in New Dehli. The SUV will be launched in different stages across the country, with prices to vary depending on the location.

The Endeavour has established itself as an undisputable leader in the premium SUV segment. With its contemporary new design look, the dominant toughness of Ford Endeavour has never been more appealing and we believe that it will set new benchmarks in its segment,” Michael
Boneham, Ford India president said in a release.

The new 3.0l DuraTorq TDCi engine on the Endeavour develops 156 PS and 380 Nm of torque at 2500 rpm. It will be offered as an alternative to the 2.5l Duratorq TDCi, developing 143 PS and 330 Nm of torque at 1800 rpm.

As for the Endeavour's new design elements, they include a new three-bar grille, new side mirrors and new 16-inch wheels. Changes can be seen in the interior as well, with the Endeavour now being fitted with premium material finished door panels, chrome scuff plate with illuminated Endeavour branding and ergonomically crafted seats.

The new design of the new Endeavour is a more premium look that builds on the capability and robust feel that are Ford Endeavour hallmarks. We’ve added contemporary touches that give it a lot more style, but it’s the way the new design complements Endeavour’s inherent strengths that was so important for the design team to execute,” Scott Ferrier, Ford Asia, Pacific and Africa design manager added.
