2014 has been a great year for video game fans and car enthusiasts alike. Polyphony, the makers of the Gran Turismo racing simulator game, have asked most of the major car companies to come up with great futuristic sportscar designs that can be downloaded into the game and enjoyed by fans.
Most brand designers went wild and pushed the rules to the absolute limit while also giving us a glimpse into the future. Volkswagen turned the GTI into a red speedster supercar, while Mercedes made a big GT that looked remarkably like their new AMG sportscar. Nissan's is probably the most famous, as it's expected to preview their next GT-R.

Today, Subaru revealed that it's ready to join the Vision Gran Turismo crowd. A teaser video and a couple of images have been released, showing a model that's supposedly called "Viziv GT".

Fans of the brand will immediately think back to the Viziv concept of 2013, which was supposed to preview all their future designs after that. However, the Viziv GT is something different, something altogether more exciting. It's got side exhaust pipes, like a Dodge Viper SRT, carbon fiber wheels and the sexy body of a two-door coupe.A chopped roof gives way to a massive F1-style rear wing, which seems to be one of the defining characteristics of the concept.

The teaser also reveals the Viziv GT is a plug-in hybrid. There aren't any specifications available at the moment, nor should there be, since vision concepts rarely have specific outputs.

Back in the real wold, Subarus come with CVT gearboxes and the BRZ will never come in STi flavor. Oh well, at least there's fun to be had in Gran Turismo 6.
