We all know how Hartge promotes its products and just how interesting their videos are. This time, Dinan went behind the camera and created a video to showcase just how efficient their S3 kit for the F10 BMW 550i is.
The standard 550i BMW has the N63 V8 4.4-liter engine under its bonnet that delivers 407 HP and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque, enough for anyone but slightly less than the pinnacle of the 5 Series range, the M5.
Since this engine is closely similar to the S63 unit of the car developed by the Motosport division of BMW, Dinan took on the job to create a custom kit for the Bimmer that would get it close to the M 5er.
Their so-called S3 kit changes a lot of the car's original parts to take the power output up to 542 HP (18 HP shy of the M5) and the torque levels beyond the M5's, reaching 587 lb-ft (795 Nm). That is impressive.
The video below is even more impressive. When the 550i with the S3 kit from Dinan took on a stock 550i the results were very clear. The Dinan car blew the stock one out of the water, proving that what the engineers from the tuning company claim is 100 percent true.
