SSC North America has announced that their upcoming Tuatara supercar will have a starting price of $1.3 million (€1 million).
Although the Bugatti Veyron SS contender hasn’t been showcased in production form, SSC Chief Officer Alan Leverett revealed the vehicle’s starting price and that deliveries could start in December 2013 or January 2014.
“The Tuatara retails at $1,300,000 USD. The first customer delivery is scheduled for December 2013 or January 2014,” Leverett said.
While the car’s top speed has yet to be revealed, the company announced the Tuatara will be powered by a twin turbo 6.9-liter V8 engine that develops 1,350 HP and 1,280 lb-ft (1,733 Nm) of torque when running on 91 octane gasoline.
SSC North America aims to claim the “World’s Fastest Production Car” title from the Bugatti Veyron SS with the Tuatara, and to do so it would have to reach more than 267.8 (431 km/h) miles per hour.
