Winter is the perfect time to take a test car out for a spin and push it to its limit, especially if your in Northern Sweden, where automakers routinely do cold weather tests.
But the sub-arctic cold is nothing new for Swedish carmaker Volvo, who knows a thing or two about safe all-wheel drive systems and making cars that stand up to the cold.

This Volvo prototype is an XC60 that's received some styling tweaks for its mid-life facelift. The changes are by no means radical and primarily target the front fascia that will receive Volvo's new signature design.

Together with this much needed style upgrade, the XC60 will also offer the newer engines that have been developed for the V40.

Volvo will most likely show a big roster of refreshed models later in the year, at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show in September.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
