Mercedes is working overtime for the development of the new A-Class and a test car was spotted once again in winter land. There’s nothing that dramatically new these photos reveal, but they do give us an opportunity to put two and two together.
The first thing we’d like to bring to your attention is that this five-door prototype has two bars in its grille that hold the Mercedes badge in place. Why is that important? Because the latest sighting of 5-door included a completely un-camouflaged car that had only one strip and a grille with the same star burst looks as the Concept-A three-door.
Which brings us to our second talking point: this probably means is that Mercedes is going to show us a new concept first, which we’re not that crazy about. But the concept is not for the regular five-door, but for the A25 AMG hothatch version of the car. This is reportedly powered by a new 2.0-liter developed with help from Mercedes’ F1 team to produce over 340 horsepower.
