We really are curious right now if BMW engineers ever sleep. The German company has a new car out seemingly every month, and it’s not hard to find the right one for you, provided you have the money to pay for it, of course.
The Bavarians invented the Sports Activity Coupe. They took a lot of criticism over, but the X6 was very successful, and now they are making a smaller one. The X4 is on its way to a global debut in 2014, but right now, it’s undergoing testing at the Nurburgring.

The platform will be the same as the X3, but the roof is sloped at the back, like a coupe. The proportions are different to the X6, since customers have been asking for more cabin space.

We’ve seen the X4 on a number of occasions in the past, but this one has shed some of its side camo. It’s just a little game BMW plays with us to keep us interested. This appears to be a base model, since there’s only one oval exhaust round the back, somewhere like an 18d, 20i or 20d by the look of it.

However, the X4 prototype is not your basic model. Round the back, we can easily spot the curves of the M Sport optional package’s black lower bumper insert. The same can be said about the front end, where the edgy surfaces of an M-designed car are visible.
