Put down your phone, there's no need to call the patent office yet. This is not a Chine clone of a BMW, it's a BMW clone of a BMW. The X1 will be magically transformed into an electric vehicle and sold under a brand called Zinoro.
Our spyshots capture the Chinese car undergoing testing in Europe under the cover of camouflage. The Zinoro was spotted near their development center in Munich where engineers were comparing it to the 1 Series.

The Chinese X1 EV will be built by at BMW Brilliance Automotive’s Tiexi, Shenyang plant. Zinoro is scheduled to debut at Auto Guangzhou this November, with BMW still considering whether to export these X1 EVs or not. Considering the X1 is one of the sweetest handling crossovers, it might not be such a bad idea, but it all depends on this being a competitive product in terms of range, power and affordability.
