There's no shortage of BMW tuners in the world, but Alpina is so much more. Their projects are somehow better than what Bavaria is able to produce.
The standard procedure for them is to take the top level normal car, fill it with luxury features and send it up against the M version of the same car.

For instance, the 2013 Alpina B6 Biturbo goes against the F13 BMW M6. Currently available in both coupe and convertible forms, the B6 is faster in a straight line than the M6 and is charismatic in a classical way, not like a boy racer on steroids.

Our spy photographers have captured something else, something amazing the past couple of days. The B6 Gran Coupe is the first car of its kind, but shares its engine with the B6 Coupe.

This means an N63 4.4-liter V8 is under the bonnet and produces 540 HP and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque.

What sets any Alpina apart is the typical aero body kit, the multi-spoke ally wheels, in this case measuring 20 inches, and the beautiful "Alpina Blue" paintjob which is unmistakable.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
