Back in 1989 the E34 M5 was the best performance sedan you could get. However, not everyone could afford the expensive Bimmer, so Alpina developed the B10 Bi-Turbo for other clients.
Unlike the M5 that had a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre engine, the engineers from Alpina fitted the B10 with 2 turbochargers and pushed the power output up to 360 HP and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque.

This way the B10 reached 100km/h (62 mph) in 5.6 seconds and had a top speed of 290 km/h. We won't mention the fuel consumption though that was ranked somewhere around 17 l/100km (13.8 mpg).

The car it's going against today is a more recent E46 M3, with a 3.2-liter engine and 343 HP and yes, it's not turbocharged like its opponent. The M3 does 100 km/h from a stand still in just 5.1 seconds and can reach only 250 km/h (155 mph).

However, over the years, the cars aged differently. As you can see, the Alpina B10 is no longer a good match for the much younger E46 M3 and loses the race but what an amazing car it was back in the 90s and how glad are we to see one is such good shape today.
