Our spy photographers have spotted a prototype for the next generation Maserati Quattroporte as it was once again testing on the famous Nurburgring test track in Germany. It’s obviously bigger in every way that the current generation four-door luxury saloon, but somehow they are also making it handle.
The Quattroporte has always been a prime choice for the man who wants a four-door saloon that’s a luxury limo for the weekday and a sportscar for the weekend. All executives have lost this sort of passion, and the Italians have stuck with huge gulping grilles and four exhaust tips.

This car is still about that Italian leather smell, the roar of the V8 and its 475 horsepower (expected) and a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission system with paddle shifters.

The new Quattroporte is going to be shown at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January, and will become available later that year. Rumor has it there will be a hybrid version and even an AWD system as an optional extra.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
