Porsche is working hard to keep to its schedule for the new Macan SUV, scheduled to hit the market in 2013 as a 2014 model year car in the US. A prototype has been spotted doing its rounds of testing on the famous Nurburgring test track in Germany. This might seem trivial at first, but not every Chevy or Dodge SUV is tested on a 20 kilometer track known to be the most grueling in the world.
For the first time, our men with the long lenses were able to capture the interior of the Macan SUV as well. This appears to be styled much like the Cayenne, with massive air vents on either side of the central display to create a chunky look. From what we can tell, the display and the buttons below it are taken from the Boxster, though we won’t know for sure until we get better photos.

The Macan SUV is expected to be offered with a range of new V6 engines tailored it. This will likely include a version of the 313 PS 3.0 BiTDI recently introduced on the SQ5, and also a 380 PS petrol engine for the Macan Turbo. A base four-cylinder model and a hybrid are also reportedly considered. Are you ready for a 220 horsepower Porsche SUV? We’re not!
