Under Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne’s leadership, Maserati will reinvent itself with three new cars in the next couple of years. The Kubang will become their very first SUV, a small sedan will be launched and the Quattroporte will see a brand new version being launched.
This is the first full-bodied prototype of the next generation Quattroporte we’ve been able to show you, as our photographers caught up to it on a snow-covered track in Scandinavia. The model is expected to be launched in the later part of 2014.

You should not be concerned with the bubble at the back, as the test team is simply trying to mask the actual shape of the car.

On the technical side, this is likely to be the first AWD Quattroporte ever, and it will be powered by either a Ferrari-derived V8 or something smaller like a turbo V6. Diesels might even be introduced further down the line.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
