We can already see the marketing in the US for this car. It starts with Nicole Scherzinger walking up to the Bug in a pair of those sexy high heel tennis shoes with stiletto looks, and she’s all like “don’t you wish your car was hot like me!” She knows how to heel and toe shift and when the top goes down, you discover the car is full of tigers.
It’s going to happen, we promise you, but first Volkswagen needs to reveal this car, the brand new convertible version of the 21st Century beetle. A prototype has recently been spotted by our spy photographers as it was undergoing cold weather testing.

The convertible might even be more marketable than the Coupe, since in some years it even managed to outsell its fixed roof counterpart. The 2013 Beetle Convertible is going to make its debut at one of the spring auto shows this year, most likely New York.

Expect the pricing to be a bit higher than the hardtop version, which we've recently tested.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
