BMW has a new crossover vehicle, combining the traits of notchbacks sedans, regular sedans and wagons. It’s going to be called the 3-Series Gran Turismo and a prototype for the car was recently spotted in Spain as it was undergoing testing.
The platform will obviously be shared with the 3-Series, as will the styling. However, this will likely not be identical to that of the regular four-door, a fact indicated by the strange non-production light fitted for testing. At the same time, the 3-Series wagon has been spotted with production headlights, so the GT might actually be a 4-Series model in terms of styling, just like the coupe and convertible.
We’ve got our own fresh spyshots of the car, and now it’s got a wing at the back, between the lip of the boot and the glass. This pops back into the bodywork if it’s not needed, just like on the Audi A7.
Editor's note: BMW engineers have a sense of humor - notice the Audi taillight stickers on the back of the trailer?
