F30 BMW 3-Series Factory Production

It’s widely considered that the new BMW 3-Series is pretty much the best car you can buy for the money. Now you get to find out what the Germans do in the process of building it to make it such a good sedan.
A 15-minute long video of how the F30 sedan is built at the production line in Munich has recently been released. The whole process is highly robotized, from the presses that form the chassis panels, to the ones that weld them together, there’s very little human intervention.

There are, however, stations where people are putting in the front fenders, the bonnet and other panels, checking the gap tolerances at every stage.

The paint process is of course also robotized, and there are even robots that open the doors so paint can be added to the inside of the car.

The last stage is when the 3-Series rolls off the line, onto a test bed and is then loaded for delivery.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
