Spyshots: 2010 Ferrari F450

Here is a sight we don't often get to see... Somewhere in northern Italy, Italian manufacturer Ferrari is making the final tweaks of their upcoming F450, getting ready for its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Unfortunately, being still in testing phase and all, the F450 presents us with the all-mighty camo, black, bulky and revealing little about the car. Fortunately, the overall stance of the car can be distinguished, revealing the Ferrari look we all got used to.

From the visual standpoint, the only things which stands out from underneath all that black clothing are the daytime running lights, fitted in a very unconventional manner, as they climb towards the windshield. Although they are clearly fitted on both sides of the car, for some reason the right-side cluster doesn't appear to be working. Or maybe it's a new trend...

But let's get back to serious business. The new Ferrari, codenamed by its builder F142, is said to provide well over the 520 hp developed by the F430 Scuderia. The F450 will be powered by an enlarged version of the 4.5l V8 unit, paired with the same double-clutch seven-speed transmission we can find of the California.

As for prices, it's all about speculation at this point. We can however get an idea by looking at the prices charged by Ferrari for its F430, the predecessor of the F450. MSRP for a Ferrari F430 is between $168,005–$227,000 in the United States, starts at 120,000 pounds in the United Kingdom and goes to about 175,000 euros in the European Union.
