We each have different expectations for what a fantastic camper van should look like. For me, sometimes it's all about simplicity and efficiency. And those are two words that represent the camper van I'm checking out today. On top of that, it has an aesthetically pleasing interior.
What we have here is a 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter camper van designed to be a full-time mobile home. A young couple, Keith and Hannah, have built it – it was their second camper van project.

After completing their first build, Keith and Hannah wanted to share their knowledge with the rest of us, so they created a website listing everything they did, a step-by-step breakdown of the building process. The van we're checking out today was a custom build for a woman who planned to travel with her dog.

On the outside, this Sprinter van looks relatively stealthy. It's finished in white all around, and the only details that reveal its camper DNA are 600 W solar panels on the roof and two slide-screen windows. By the way, the roof also holds a wooden deck, a WeBoost cell phone signal booster, and a Maxxair fan.

Once you slide open the main door, you'll be greeted by a finely-designed interior. Regarding design, the couple opted for mint green cabinetry paired with white walls and a vinyl plank floor. What's more, insulation was done with Havelock wool.

This rig boasts an interesting layout – unlike in most camper vans, you won't notice cabinetry on both sides of the interior, but instead just on one. Keith and Hannah built it like this for quite a funny reason.

As I mentioned, this van's customer planned to travel with her dog, which is around 100-125 lb. (45-57 kg) heavy. So, it's quite a big doggo. So, the customer wanted to offer as much space as possible for the dog to turn around because it gets anxious if it doesn't have enough room. The things we do for our furry friends, am I right?

You'll see that the interior also boasts a partly open layout, meaning the driver's cabin isn't fully separated from the living space – the bathroom wall covers about half of the pass-through space, but there's still enough room to go through.

The customer decided to keep the passenger seat, but Keith and Hannah also installed a wooden box with a flip-up panel – this is where you can add a cushion for the dog to stay while driving.

The next part of this interior is the bathroom, located right behind the driver's seat. It's quite compact, yet enough for a single person to take a shower – specifically, it measures 24 x 24 inches (61 x 61 centimeters). It features a Nautilus self-cleaning sliding door, a standard shower head as well as a rain shower head, and a slide-out composting toilet.

Regarding aesthetics, you'll notice the bathroom boasts walls with tiles imitating white marble and a teak mat. Oh, by the way, Keith and Hannah used the space between the bathroom and the driver's seat to devise a tall compartment. Pull it out to reveal a large mirror, which hides many storage spaces behind it. Moreover, underneath it, there's another small storage spot.

Walk deeper inside, and you'll find the kitchen located on the driver's side of the interior. It consists of a floor-to-ceiling unit that holds a dual-burner induction stove, a small Dometic fridge, and a storage space. Next, there are two spacious overhead cabinets, a deep sink with an extendable gold faucet, and various other cabinets and drawers. Moreover, the couple added gold handles and a matching tiled backsplash with a golden accent.

On the opposite side, where the customer wanted more space for the dog, Keith and Hannah installed two overhead shelves, a small counter with a cabinet underneath, and a flip-up table.

The seating area is located between the kitchen and the bedroom. It's a compact space that consists of two small benches and a pull-out table. What's more, you get some good storage options in this area: underneath the two benches, inside the pull-out table, and in a floor compartment.

And finally, we have the bedroom. In the day setup, the bed is pretty small, as it's retracted to make room to sit on the benches. However, when you want to go to sleep, you can pull out a frame extension over the benches and create a full-size bed. Other notable features in the bedroom are a 12 V ceiling A/C, a long shelf, and three overhead cabinets identical to those in the kitchen.

The only way to access the garage is by opening the two rear doors. By the way, the garage space is fully covered by a wall with doors. This is where you'll discover a slide-out storage compartment, an outdoor shower, a flip-up table, and the plumbing and electrical systems.

The power system's highlights are two 300 Ah batteries. What's more, it can be charged not only via the alternator and the 600 W solar panels but also through a shore power connection.

The water system is good too, comprising a massive 60-gallon (227-liter) freshwater tank and a water heater. There's also an under-mounted 20-gallon (76-liter) greywater tank. While we're on the topic of utilities, you should know that a Velit gas heater is also included in the build, tapped directly into the vehicle's gas tank.

All in all, this is a fantastic camper van conversion, especially since this is the couple's second build. Even though it doesn't follow the standard mold of most camper vans, it's got some cleverly integrated features.

I did some further digging and found out that the customer traveled for six months inside the van, adding a total of 25,000 miles (40,233 km) to the odometer. Late last year, the customer decided to build another camper van, and she is selling this one for $110,000 (€101,745).
