Hyundai's Australian arm has announced the introduction of the facelifted Sonata locally. The model is still offered in one single trim level, the N Line, and is more expensive than its predecessor.
Due to its updated front and rear fascias, there is no mistaking it for the previous iteration. Changes revolve around the lighting signatures and bumpers, complete with the restyled wheels measuring 19 inches in diameter and a matte paint finish option added to the color palette.

Inside, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata N Line gets the new-gen 12.3-inch digital dials and an equally-sized touchscreen infotainment system. The car supports over-the-air updates, has a touch-type climate control panel, ambient lighting, USB-C charging ports, an electric trunk lid, LED ambient lighting, acoustic laminated front glass, and other stuff.

Hyundai also mentions the Nappa and suede upholstery, front seats with electric adjustment and heating and ventilation functions, dual-zone air-con, power rear sunshade, panoramic glass roof, Bose premium audio, Bluelink connected car service, smartphone integration, wireless charging pad, auto-dimming rearview mirror, LED headlights, etc.

In the safety department, the 2024 Sonata N Line comes with forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, intelligent speed limit assist, surround-view monitor, safe exit assist, blind spot monitor, and smart cruise control with stop and go, which are part of the Hyundai SmartSense bundle of driver assistance items.

Powering the mid-size model is the 2.5-liter T-GDi unit, which produces 213 kW (290 ps/286 hp) and 422 Nm (311 lb-ft) of torque. The sole transmission available for it is an eight-speed dual-clutch unit. The car also has launch control for quicker off-the-line takeoffs.

For the 2024 Hyundai Sonata N Line, Aussies will have to pay at least AU$55,500 (equal to US$34,994), excluding the dealer delivery and on-road costs, or nearly AU$3,500 (US$~2,200) than its predecessor.

US pricing has yet to be announced, though the facelifted Sonata should be a bit more expensive than the 2023 iteration that has an MSRP of $25,450 for the entry-level SE, climbing to $35,325 for the range-topping Limited. The current N Line starts at $34,825 in our market, and for the SEL and SEL Plus, customers have to pay at least $27,975 and $32,475, respectively. All prices exclude the destination charge, dealer fees, and options.

Hyundai's 2023 Sonata N Line uses the same four-pot engine as the facelifted iteration in Australia. It has a curb weight of 3,552 pounds (1,611 kg), and its fuel consumption is rated at 23 mpg (10.2 l/100 km) in the city, 33 mpg (7.1 l/100 km) on the highway, and 27 mpg (8.7 l/100 km) combined.

One important novelty for the 2024 Sonata stateside set to launch this winter is the introduction of the all-wheel drive system, which will be optional on cars featuring the 2.5-liter engine that currently makes 191 hp (194 ps/142 kW).
