Every manufacturer's notion of what a luxury RV is meant to be and do is different. Well, today, we'll be exploring Venture RV and their SporTrek Touring Edition travel trailers. Oh, and they're "Built for Full-Time RVing," so get ready to sell the home and hit the road.
The name Venture RV is a rather new brand on the mobile living scene. However, they're an off-shoot of parent company KZ RV, a crew that's been in this business since 1972 and is now under Thor Industries' rule. With this much history behind the Venture brand, you can expect it to be the peak of what's possible in terms of capable, affordable, and road-ready habitats. Let's see what's in store with the SportTrek range.

If you ever happen to come across Venture RV's website, the SportTrek range will present nine floorplans from which you can choose. But, the real attraction here is that the largest unit in the lineup, the STT343VIK, only comes in with a dry weight of 8,970 lbs (4,069 kg). This makes it suitable even for a wide range of trucks and vehicles.

Now, to fully grasp what this class of travel trailers has to offer, I invite you upon a little daydream into a life lived out of a SportTrek trailer. To do that, I'm going to select the STT343VIK as the unit we live out of. Being the largest in the class, we can consider it the flagship, showcasing all the best of this lineup. But before you go on, I urge you to check out the image gallery. Ready?

I want to start things off by saying that as I was getting to know this family of campers, I realized something; Venture RV seems to be aiming these RVs at the outdoor lovers among us. Why? Well, as I mentioned, these babies are ready for year-round living, but that's not all. After you've chosen and reached your destination, SportTrek begins to unveil its outdoor-inclined features.

I'm talking about things like the awnings set up all around the 343VIK and other units too. Features like the outdoor "campfire cafe," ready with a griddle, fridge, sink, and countertop, massive pass-through storage for outdoor dining sets and other gear, and, above all, access to the roof so that you can tend to your solar panels or the cargo racks you've mounted to the roof. Go ahead, set up a fireplace, extend the countless slide-outs these machines offer (the 343VIK has three), and then take in the sights and sounds of this moment in time and place. I bet you'll find it hard to hold back the smiles.

Since your on-road home is now showcasing all of its glory, let's go ahead and step inside to see the sort of interiors that Venture RV may have in store. Well, after I got a good look at what this manufacturer is offering, I couldn't help but fall in love with the large open spaces available inside.

For example, the 343VIK is one of the floorplans that comes with an island kitchen block ready with a sink, cabinetry for utensils, and a massive countertop where you can prepare your dishes. To cook them, turn in place, and there's a cooktop and oven, preheated and waiting for your three-course meals. Once ready, a four-person dinette is found on the opposite wall, standing on a slide-out.

With bellies full, there's only so much you can do, and the SportTrek class seems to be on top of things in terms of relaxation. Not only are there modular sofas in these units, and theater seating too but these buggers are equipped with entertainment centers and even come with not one but two fireplaces. In the 343VIK floorplan, one fireplace is found in the forward bedroom, perfect for late and intimate evenings with your significant other.

Speaking of the bedroom, this is also a space in which Venture has poured some love and attention. As a result, units are equipped with king beds with walk-around space, wardrobes, dressers, and shelves, and the 343VIK even has a forward-facing window seat that's perfect for kicking back and enjoying a cup of coffee and a book.

You know, the more I run through the sort of features found in the SportTrek, the more I realize that these babies really ARE equipped for year-round living. I didn't spot a washer/dryer combo in the features list, but I'm sure you can add that as an option if the unit you fall in love with doesn't have this system.

As for the last question on everyone's mind, how much can we expect to pay for a SportTrek? Well, this depends on a few things, but the most influential aspect is the dealership you use to get your hands on one. Nonetheless, some dealers are showcasing new 2023 STT343VBH units going for around $60K (€54,400 at current exchange rates). Sign me up! Heck, other floorplans come in even cheaper, starting around the $50K mark. If that's not worth your attention, I don't know what is.
