In an attempt to offer prospective clients a simplified, more streamlined approach to yacht design and a shorter construction time, world-renowned luxury yacht builder Oceanco has introduced the Simply Custom Collection, a range of semi-custom superyachts that combine the yard's proven naval platform with innovative designs from the best studios across the world and endless customization options.
A total of 17 superyachts are included in the new range, which was initially presented during last year's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and the latest entry in the line is the Carinae designed by Monaco-based Pascoli International.

Oceanco has just revealed the first renderings of the new 262-foot (80-meter) concept named after the constellation Carinae, and it's as enthralling as the previous models in the Simply Custom Collection.

Showcasing a strong, imposing profile, the luxury watercraft has an interesting origin story regarding its unusual hull design. "Carinae was once part of a larger [constellation] called Argo Navis. In Greek mythology, Argo was a ship built with the help of the gods to retrieve the golden fleece, and Carinae represents its hull," clarifies the studio's founder, Kristian Pascoli.

Actually, as Pascoli highlights, the hull is this superyacht design's most striking feature. Challenging the zeitgeist of conventional yacht design, which typically involves "deck stacking and styling exercise," in Pascoli's opinion, the design studio integrated the main deck into the hull. As a result, the yacht comes with a generous stern area "reminiscent of galleon designs of past eras." The deckhouse and funnels, meanwhile, are inspired by the design of 1930s liners.

More importantly, the technical foundation provided by Oceanco's Simply Custom project fit the design like a glove. Besides ensuring the resulting yacht benefits from the latest tech for enhanced performance, efficiency, and sustainability, it also offers plenty of flexibility in terms of layout and living spaces. (Typically, the yachts in this series are configured with an owner's suite and six guest staterooms)

Specific details regarding the new Carinae design are still kept under wraps, but from what we can gather from the renderings, it will feature a plumb bow, an impressively wide swim platform, and a large glass-bottomed swimming pool aft that will refract light into the floor below and can also serve as a skylight for those inside.

Oceanco's Simply Custom yacht series is meant to provide tailored solutions for any lifestyle and yachting preferences. Lateral Naval Architects take care of engineering and naval architecture of the range, and the technical foundation comprises an all-electrical propulsion and energy architecture system that ensure the highest level of operational capability for the custom vessels.

Pascoli International's Carinae concept is the eighth superyacht design revealed so far in the Simply Custom Collection, with previous units including the Espen Øino-designed Clarity, Storm and Portofino from H2 Yacht Design, Aurai penned by Bozca Limitless Design, Superleggera 80 by Hot Lab, Nuvolari Lenard's Domino, and the in-house designed Pegasus.
