It's been a while, true, but enthusiasts of all things Corvette might remember that rumors were circulating late last year about General Motors getting ready to launch 'America's sports car' as a separate brand in 2025.
Not much has been said or done about that ever since – and maybe the rumor mill got that one wrong. Besides, the whispers also talked about the Camaro and Escalade being treated the same way, and things are not looking great for one of them. Remember how Chevrolet has already come out with a range-wide Collector's Edition and a severely limited 56-unit Garage 56 ZL1 special series treatment? Well, it was all to make the passing of the sixth generation a little easier – as there isn't a follow-up pegged for presentation, at least for now.

Meanwhile, the Cadillac Escalade family is getting larger with the first-ever, all-new IQ zero-emissions model that is set to premiere on August 9 in New York City. That's great news for anyone wanting to blend the full-size diamond-styled fifth-gen Escalade with Ultium EV technology. Still, again, no one said anything about Caddy letting Escalade go on its merry way as a stand-alone division. However, that doesn't mean that everyone has discarded the idea of these separate brands and the thought that America's Corvette could have the exact same fate as seen with the Mustang and Mustang-E twins.

As such, here is yet another interpretation of the potential 2025 Chevrolet Corvette EV sport utility vehicle with four doors. The good folks over at car.design.trends have focused our attention on this unofficial, fan-made project by Vince Burlapp (aka vburlapp on social media), who is a major automotive enthusiast. He even has an online venue where he shares news, test drives, photos, spotted cars, and, above all, even some of his CGI illustrations. And, while scouring around the premises, we found something with nuclear potential – this pixel master envisioned both the four-door Chevy Corvette EV crossover SUV and the second-generation Ford Mustang Mach-E, complete with an added Coupe-SUV version.

Well, that would be something for the ages – to see the Mustang and Corvette duke it out not just on the street, the track, or the local quarter-mile dragstrip but also in the novel fields of Coupe-SUV crossovers while also attending the sermon of the EV lifestyle. Unfortunately, the author wasn't keen on presenting the four-door Corvette EV crossover SUV and the dual ensemble of Ford Mustang Mach-E and Mach-E Coupe from too many angles, so we had to settle for the POVs we received on social media. As for their powertrains, well, the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance is still excellent, and a Corvette EV SUV could easily borrow the Caddy Lyriq's AWD dual-motor version and lift the pony count to above 500 to trump its adversary, right?
