Last year, Mercedes-Benz celebrated the 45th anniversary of the AMG brand by releasing a special edition of the SL 65 AMG and a very limited edition, of just five units, of the SLS AMG GT3 Customer Racing car.
Called the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary, the five racing cars had each of their engines hand assembled and signed by none other than DTM champion and AMG brand ambassador Bernd Schneider, with the body being finished in Designo magno graphite matte paint, while the gullwing doors have a “45 Year of Driving Performance” logo on them.
Since chances of owning one of the five special edition racing cars are next to slim for most people, the next best thing seems to come from German die cast manufacturer Minischamps, who just released two photos of a 1:18 scale model of the SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary.
We have no idea if the miniature will also be part of a limited edition like the other SLS AMG GT3 released by Minischamps at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but a regular 1:18 scale model of the SLS AMG GT3 Customer Racing car usual retails for 60 Euros.
